India Colcludes G20 Presidency, Calls For Humanity Over Hostility

PM Narendra Modi, who’s eyeing a third term in 2024, has been playing a big role on the global stage. Under his leadership, India’s wrapping up a year as the president of the G20 – that’s the group of 20 major economies.

Modi’s had a clear message for world leaders: “Humanity over hostility.” This comes especially at a time when tensions are high in the world including the recent conflict between Israel & the Palestinian group, Hamas, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the economic slowdown in the US & UK.

India is now concluding its Presidency at the G20 summit. Modi’s been pushing for a fresh perspective. He’s talking about moving from just looking at GDP to focusing more on people – human-centric progress. It’s like saying, let’s not just talk about money, but also about making lives better.

This approach is a shift from the usual Western-dominated global order. Modi’s been all about including everyone’s interests, not just a few countries. And he’s made some solid moves. The G20 under India saw 87 outcomes and adopted 118 documents – that’s a lot more than ever before.

One of the great things India did was bring in the African Union as a permanent G20 member. It’s all about inclusivity, and making sure everyone gets a seat at the table.

Modi also hosted the ‘Voice of the Global South Summit’, focusing on countries that are still developing. It’s a big step in making sure these countries get heard in global discussions.

As India passes the baton to Brazil for the next G20 presidency, Modi is hopeful that the steps taken will have a lasting impact, particularly on people, the planet, peace, and prosperity.

India has shared a clear message to the world that this is not an era of war. India has a centric focus on humanity, inclusivity, and shaking up the old ways of dominating other countries.
