India Builds International Convention Centre – Bharat Mandapam

India has opened a renovated building called the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) to host the G20 leaders meetings.

The building is part of the Pragati Maidan Complex, which is India’s largest venue for meetings, conferences, and exhibitions.

The complex is now ranked among the top 10 in the world and has a seating capacity of 7,000 people. It also has an amphitheater with a seating capacity of 3,000 people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the inauguration of the newly built International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) in Delhi.

He praised the progress made under the BJP government and predicted even faster growth in their third term. Modi also announced that the IECC, named ‘Bharat Mandapam,’ will host the G20 Summit in September.

India is providing e-conferencing visas to over 160 countries. The PM dedicated the convention center to the nation and released a commemorative coin and stamp to mark India’s G20 presidency.

The IECC is India’s largest convention and exhibition venue, with a capacity of 7,000 people and a cost of around Rs.2,700 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that India’s growth will be even faster in the 3rd term of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.

He also mentioned that India will be among the top 3 economies in the world during this time. India was the 10th biggest economy when BJP won the elections. Within a few years India escalated from 10th to 5th largest economy in the world.

PM Modi also mentioned that the national capital, New Delhi, will soon have the world’s largest museum called ‘Yuge Yugeen Bharat’ National Museum.

The existing buildings of North Block and South Block will be converted into this museum. It will cover an area of 1.17 lakh sq mts with 950 rooms and will showcase India’s rich civilizational culture of over 5,000 years.
