Indian women boxers have achieved their best performance ever at the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Women’s World Boxing Championship by clinching four gold medals. The tournament was held in Istanbul, Turkey, from March 20 to 27.
Pooja Rani (75 kg), Mary Kom (48 kg), Simranjit Kaur (60 kg), and Lovlina Borgohain (69 kg) won gold medals in their respective weight categories. Mary Kom, who is a six-time world champion, also won the Best Boxer Award in the tournament.
