The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Damodardas Modi, kicked off the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on Sunday, urging citizens to change the display picture (DP) on their social media accounts to the Tricolour, the national flag of India.

Only two days are left for India’s Independence Day celebrations. India will observe the 77 years of independence on 15 August, 2023, by commemorating the 76 years of freedom.

To promote the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the Prime Minister of India has changed the display picture of his social media accounts to the national flag of India. He urged people to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga movement’ from August 13 to 15 in the spirit of ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’. PM Modi also asked people to upload their pictures on the Har Ghar Tiranga website.

He also highlighted the importance of the Tricolour, the national flag of India. He wrote on X, previously Twitter, “The Tiranga symbolises the spirit of freedom and national unity. I urge you all to take part in the #HarGharTiranga movement between 13th to 15th August.”

Last year, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of India introduced the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. On the website, citizens of India can upload pictures of the national flag at their homes. They can also upload selfies alongside the Tiranga, the national flag of the country.

The campaign was launched to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, known as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

On August 15, the Prime Minister will unfurl the National Flag of India at the Red Fort in Delhi. The Indian Army will coordinate service at the Red Fort.
