India’s cricket team is doing well against England in the first test match on the second day. Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja scored a half-century (50 runs).
India is now ahead by over 100 runs. This lead happened because of the good partnership between Jadeja and KS Bharat. Bharat scored 41 runs before getting out.
Then, another player, Ravichandran Ashwin, got out because of a mistake while running between the wickets with Jadeja. This mistake brought Axar Patel to play, and he started strong by scoring four runs on his first ball.
Earlier, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer made a good team, scoring 64 runs together. Rahul then paired up with Jadeja and they scored 65 runs. Rahul was playing very well but missed getting 100 runs and got out after scoring 86 runs. After Rahul was out, Jadeja played more carefully.
On the other side, England also had some good moments. Joe Root, an England player, got Yashasvi Jaiswal out when he had 80 runs.
Then, Tom Hartley, another player from England, took out Shubman Gill. England’s team captain, Ben Stokes, played well on the first day and helped England score 246 runs.
Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma, the captain of India’s team, played aggressively on the first day. They scored 80 runs quickly. However, Rohit got out after making a risky shot. After Rohit, Gill played carefully and ended the first day with 14 runs.
England’s new player, Tom Hartley, gave away 63 runs in nine overs. England used all their reviews early in the game, which could be a disadvantage for them.
England’s opening batsmen, Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, played well at the start. Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root also had a good partnership. But after that, England lost wickets regularly until Stokes scored 70 runs.
For India, Jadeja, Ashwin, and Axar Patel each took wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, another Indian player, also took two wickets, including getting Stokes out.
