The IMD has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over these states. There is also a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand. The IMD has advised people to be cautious and take necessary precautions.
The heavy rain is expected to be caused by a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The low-pressure area is likely to move west and merge with another low-pressure area over central India. This will cause the monsoon winds to become stronger and bring heavy rain to the affected states.
The IMD has also advised fishermen not to venture into the sea in the next 24 hours. The weather department has forecast strong winds and rough sea conditions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued predictions for heavy rainfall in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra for the next five days. Meanwhile, the national capital, Delhi, continues to face a flood-like situation due to rising water levels in the Yamuna River. Additionally, Bihar has witnessed multiple casualties due to lightning strikes in various districts.
Delhi has been grappling with a flood-like situation, particularly in low-lying areas. The water level in the Yamuna River is gradually decreasing, but areas like ITO road are still submerged, causing severe difficulties for commuters.
In Bihar, lightning strikes have resulted in the unfortunate deaths of at least 22 people in the last 12 hours. The casualties occurred in various districts, with the majority happening while people were working in the fields.
The India Meteorological Department has issued an ‘orange warning’ for heavy rainfall in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, with a possibility of temporary traffic congestion.
