How To Use ChatGPT On Your Android Phone For Free?

OpenAI, the tech company, has made its viral chatbot, ChatGPT, available to Android users in the United States, India, Bangladesh, and Brazil.

This expansion comes shortly after its initial launch on Apple’s iOS platform, where it gained widespread popularity. Now, Android users can also access the ChatGPT app from the Google Play Store.

The ChatGPT app allows users to interact with an AI-powered chatbot, providing conversational answers to their queries. It offers a simple interface where users can type their questions, and the chatbot responds directly above the chatbox. The app also includes voice input using Whisper, OpenAI’s open-source speech recognition system.

By expanding to Android, OpenAI aims to democratize access to advanced AI tools for a broader audience, as Android holds a significant market share in mobile devices.

This move is part of OpenAI’s plan to make ChatGPT available in more countries over the coming weeks, catering to an even more diverse global audience.

The app is free to download on Google Play and syncs chat history across devices, allowing users to access previous conversations even when offline.

It is especially useful for boosting productivity, providing idea feedback, note summarization, and technical topic assistance. Additionally, users can explore new languages and modern history at their own pace.

While ChatGPT for Android offers a host of useful features, it currently does not include the option to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus, which is built on OpenAI’s new-gen GPT-4 LLM (large language model).

ChatGPT Plus, available for iOS users, allows them to upload images and costs Rs 1,999 per month.

To download the official ChatGPT Android app for free, you need to search for “ChatGPT” on Google Play and ensure they select the app by OpenAI. Once downloaded, users can log in with their registered ID or sign up using their Apple or Google ID for new users.
