Fleas are one of the most annoying pests to deal with. They are small, jumpy and multiply quickly. Pets roaming in the house can pick up fleas from being outside in nature, around other animals and when humans track the insects in their shoes or clothes.
One of the most common signs that pets have fleas is excessive itching and scratching. Fleas are normally 2-4 mm long making them visible to the naked human eye.
If your family pet has fleas it is likely possible that your house and garden would be infested with the pests and it’s very necessary that you clean it up properly and take the necessary steps before it’s too late.
Now we are going to see what are the necessary steps to first prevent the fleas from infesting your house and then if it’s already there then how to get rid of them.
The length of time required to get rid of a flea infested house depends a lot on the environment, and how long the fleas have been there. Prompt cleaning and using topical flea medications for your pet would get rid of the majority of the insects. However if it has already spread to various parts of the house, then it can take days or even weeks to clean the house properly.
Fleas lay a lot of eggs quickly and some fleas develop resistance towards medicines and insecticides thus making it more difficult.
