How Can You Identify Fake Reviews On Amazon & Flipkart?

Amazon is testing a new feature that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to summarize customer reviews. The feature provides concise summaries of the main themes and sentiments from reviews, helping shoppers quickly assess a product’s suitability.

The AI technology also helps detect and prevent fake reviews by analyzing data points such as account relationships and review histories.

Well, Amazon’s AI integration might be helpful in future. But what about now? How can you spot the fake reviews on e-commerce portals like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and others?

Here are some tips which will make you a smart buyer and help you to make informed decisions every time.

Checking the dates of the reviews, as a bunch of glowing reviews posted on the same day might be fake. Sorting the reviews by recency can help to see the most up-to-date feedback from real buyers.

Genuine reviewers often provide specific details about how they used the product and their likes and dislikes, while fake reviewers may use vague or generic praise. Repeated phrases in different reviews could indicate that the reviews are copied from a template or script.

You should search for other sources of reviews, such as reputable review websites or YouTube videos, to get more information and insights about the product.

Checking the reviewer’s profile and history can help determine their trustworthiness.

Looking for the “Verified Purchase” badge on Amazon indicates that the reviewer actually bought the product from Amazon, and filtering reviews to show only those with this badge can be helpful.
