Home Minister Amit Shah was concerned over the misuse of government agencies, including CBI for political purposes, during UPA governance.
Indian politician Amit Shah, who is the Home Minister of India and also a member of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as well as a close ally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a recent speech in News18 Rising India Summit, Shah addressed concerns about the alleged misuse of government agencies for political purposes and called for those who have evidence to come forward and name the individuals responsible.
Shah recounted his own experience with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India’s premier investigating agency, which he claimed had pressured him to implicate Modi in a fake encounter case in 2010.
According to Shah, the CBI had threatened to arrest him and his family members if he did not comply. He also accused the previous Congress-led government of using agencies like the CBI for political vendettas and said that the current BJP government was committed to ending such practices.
Shah’s statements come amidst ongoing controversy surrounding the use of government agencies in India, particularly in the context of investigations into alleged corruption and other criminal activities involving politicians and officials.
Critics of the government allege that agencies like the CBI are being used to target opposition leaders and dissenters, while supporters argue that such investigations are necessary to ensure accountability and transparency.
Amit Shah’s speech was made at an event commemorating the birth anniversary of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of the BJP’s predecessor party, the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Shah praised Mookerjee’s contributions to Indian politics and highlighted the BJP’s commitment to his vision of a united and strong India. He also emphasized the BJP’s commitment to his vision for India.
Amit Shah addressed concerns about the alleged misuse of government agencies for political purposes in India.
Shah recounted his own experience with the CBI and accused the previous Congress-led government of using such agencies for political vendettas.
Amit Shah recalled the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case, which was filed against him when he was the Gujarat home minister.
He was commenting in response to a query regarding the opposition’s claim that the Narendra Modi administration is “misusing” governmental agencies to attack them.
He said, “Let me tell you the misuse of national agencies. I was asked why I was getting troubled in 90% of the questions throughout my interrogation, and they claimed they would leave me if I named Narendra Modi.”
“Even then, we did not stage a protest, wear all-black attire, or interfere with the work of Parliament. The Supreme Court itself disbanded the SIT that had been established against Modi.”
Shah revealed that he was instructed to blame Narendra Modi during the entire interrogation.
“During the entire interrogation, I heard the phrase ‘Modi ka naam de do, de do. But why should I blame him? The same Congress is now weeping over its destiny,” Shah stated.
Rahul Gandhi isn’t the only politician found guilty by a jury and expelled from the assembly.
17 major leaders, including Lalu Prasad, J Jayalalithaa, and Raashid Alvi, had lost their membership due to a 2013 Supreme Court order issued during the UPA government, which said that an elected representative’s seat would be forfeited immediately upon conviction. Even yet, no one objected court’s order and worn black clothes.”
“Listen to Rahul Gandhi’s entire speech; he didn’t only criticize Modi Ji in an insulting manner. He has used insulting language against the OBC community and the whole Modi community, Shah continued.
The Home Minister claimed that Rahul Gandhi has been attempting to raise a controversy and blame Modi for his destiny rather than seeking a higher court. He said that Rahul Gandhi should take his case to a higher court rather than attempting to put the blame on the PM.
He continued, Rahul Gandhi must read his grandmother’s speech on Savarkar, and that such words for such a liberation fighter should not have been used. He stated that “members in his own party are urging him not to comment against Savarkar.”
