Highlights: Everything About Historic Ayodhya Ram Mandir Ceremony

Today is one most important day of India as the ceremony Ram Mandir in Ayodhya took place. This ceremony was to welcome and install the idol of Lord Ram in the newly built Ram Mandir temple. 

The entire nation is still filled with excitement and religious devotion as people eagerly awaited this historic event, for nearly 500 years.

The idol of Lord Ram, called Ram Lalla, is a beautiful sculpture made by a skilled artist from Mysuru. It is 51 inches tall and depicts Lord Ram as a five-year-old child, standing on a lotus. The idol was unveiled by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in a grand ceremony.

The idol is made from a single block of stone and was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a special ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The Ram Mandir is built in a traditional style called Nagara architecture. It is a big compound that stretches 380 feet from east to west and is 250 feet wide. The main structure is 161 feet tall and has multiple floors, each 20 feet high.

Many famous people from different fields like Temples, religious organizations, industrialists, actors, attended the Ram Mandir ceremony, including 7,000 VVIP visitors.

The ceremony was also celebrated globally, with the Indian diaspora lighting up New York Times Square with images of the Ram Mandir and Lord Ram. In Mexico, a temple dedicated to Lord Ram was also built in Queretaro, it is the first temple of its kind in Mexico.

Before the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, Prime Minister Modi followed a strict spiritual practice for 11 days. He slept on the floor and drank coconut water as part of this practice. He also visited various temples across the country and took a holy dip at a beach called Rameswaram ‘Angi theerth’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He said that it was an emotional moment as Lord Ram had finally arrived in Ayodhya after nearly 500 years of waiting. 

The temple has been consecrated for Lord Ram, and he will no longer reside in a tent. The idol of Ram Lalla was unveiled before the consecration ceremony.

The prime minister also thanked the judiciary for their decision in 2019 to award the disputed site to the Hindu petitioners. He said that justice was delivered, and the temple was built in a legal manner.

Modi also mentioned that the date of January 22, 2024, is significant as it marks the advent of a new era of India as a developed country.
