Saiyami Kher & Gulshan Devaiah starring ‘8 A.M. Metro’ film released today. The Raj Rachakonda directed movie resembles the film Lunchbox, but in a different way.

The movie “8 A.M. Metro” is a heartfelt story about two strangers who meet in a metro and develop an unlikely friendship.

The film revolves around Saiyami Kher’s character, Iravati, a middle-class homemaker dealing with a suffocating household situation and Gulshan Deviah’s character, Pritam, a socially awkward banker.

As they meet every day at 8 am while Iravati travels to meet her pregnant sister, they bond over jokes, poetry, and shared experiences. The movie explores themes of mental health, social anxiety, and the importance of seeking help.

The film successfully captures the highs and lows of life, presenting a realistic portrayal of mental health struggles and society’s attitude towards it.

The dialogues are well-written, and the performances by Saiyami Kher and Gulshan Devaiah bring depth and relatability to their characters.

The movie delicately handles sensitive topics like suicide, sparking important discussions. It also questions societal norms and challenges the judgment faced by individuals who form deep connections despite being married and having families.

“8 A.M. Metro” is praised for its literary elements, incorporating Gulzar’s poetry and providing lessons on life. The movie effectively blends humor with serious moments, creating a balanced narrative.

However, some viewers felt that the pacing could be improved, and the second half of the film dragged a bit.

The movie is seen as a therapy session that offers comfort and leaves the audience with a lighter heart. It provides a thought-provoking exploration of human connections and has the potential to heal viewers in its own unique way.

The ending, featuring Franz Kafka’s missing doll, is particularly impactful. Although imperfect, “8 A.M. Metro” is appreciated for its intentions and the conversations it sparks about mental health and the complexities of relationships.
