Halloween dressing up is a long-standing custom. The eerie event is observed in a variety of nations and has recently gained popularity in India as well.

People dress up on this day to scare off supernatural entities and other such souls from the ‘afterlife,’ who are said to walk the Earth because, according to folklore, the barrier between the living and the dead lifts during this time.

The notion has recently been influenced by movies and television shows, and today’s fashions include pop culture references in gowns, makeup, and costumes that may or may not be characterised as “spooky.” For instance, people sometimes dress up as a character or one of their favourite celebrities.

When Kim Kardashian declared she would sacrifice anything for fashion, she really meant it. The entrepreneur, socialite, and reality TV celebrity dressed as the mutant Mystique from the X-Men in a blue latex costume. She finished the image by wearing blazing yellow contact lenses and having her hair coloured red, just like the character.

Kendall Jenner, Kim’s half-sister, changed into the character “Jessie” from Toy Story. The 26-year-old, however, gave the classic costume a seductive touch. She was wearing the crimson velvet hat and braided her hair.

Kylie Jenner, who is well known for curating and producing avant-garde fashion statements, unveiled her Halloween 2022 getup this year: the “Bride of Frankenstein,” dressed in Jean Paul Gaultier. She covered herself with a white mummy-style dress, and for the second costume, a flowing white dress with opera gloves, she added a black hair perm and a white streak to complete the look. A prop knife was also brought in by her.
