Gujarat has witnessing major rainfall that has led to severe flooding in several cities. Vadodara is also in flood. The heavy downpours have caused rivers like the Vishwamitri to breach their banks, inundating low-lying areas and creating life-threatening situations for residents.
A spinner for the Indian women’s cricket team Radha Yadav also found herself the floods.
Radha shared an Instagram story she said, it is “very bad situation” as the floodwaters rose around her. She expressed her gratitude to the NDRF for coming to her rescue. She said, “We are stuck in a very bad situation. Thank you so much #NDRF for rescuing us.”
The flooding in Gujarat has claimed 26 lives over the past three days, with 19 more fatalities reported recently due to rain-related incidents. The situation in Vadodara remains critical due to overflow of river. Approximately 17,800 people have been evacuated from the affected areas. Rescue operations are being carried out by the NDRF, the SDRF, and the Indian Army.
