Govt Launches Free Bot Removal Tools On Cyber Swachhta Kendra Portal

Due to several malware & bot attack cases, Indian govt’s DoT has launched the Cyber Swachhta Kendra portal which allows you to download free Bot Removal tools.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in the Indian government has launched a series of free tools to avoid harmful bots & malware.

With the rising number of malware attacks and scams, concerns about privacy and security have grown among users who have experienced data and financial losses.

To address this issue, the government has introduced free tools for removing harmful bots, and it is actively promoting awareness about these tools through SMS notifications.

To access the free bot removal tools, users are directed to the Cyber Swachhta Kendra (CSK) Portal at https://www.csk.gov.in/.

The government’s SMS message advises users to download the “Free Bot Removal Tool” from this portal to safeguard their devices against botnet infections and malware.

The Cyber Swachhta Kendra Portal, operates in collaboration with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and antivirus companies under the management of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In).

This portal is also known as the Botnet Cleaning and Malware Analysis Centre. The portal offers free malware detection tools and aims to establish a secure cyberspace by actively identifying and detecting botnet infections within India.

Botnet infections occur when devices, such as smartphones or computers, are compromised by malware known as “bots.”

These infected devices become part of a network controlled by hackers, allowing them to carry out malicious activities. The CSK portal provides information and tools to help users secure their systems and devices.

To remove malware or botnet infections from devices, users are instructed to visit the CSK website and navigate to the “Security Tools” tab.

They can then choose the antivirus company’s bot removal tool they wish to use and download it. After downloading the tool, users should run it on their devices to eliminate the malware or botnet infection.

Additionally, the CSK portal offers other security applications such as “USB Pratirodh” and “AppSamvid” that can further enhance device security.
