Google Takes Away Laptops, Staplers And Other Stuffs From Its Employees

Google is taking away laptops, staplers, services & other items from employees to cut the company’s costs, after doing 12,000 layoffs, amid the U.S. tech crisis.

Google has revealed a number of cost-cutting initiatives at the corporation, months after laying off close to 12,000 workers.

Ruth Porat, Google’s chief finance officer, reportedly informed staff members via email that the business will be reducing the number of benefits and extras it now provides.

Fitness lessons, delayed laptop replacements, and a lack of staplers

In her email, Porat said that Google had “established a high bar for industry-leading perks, benefits, and workplace amenities, and will continue that going forward.

“Yet some adjustments are necessary. These adjustments will decrease food waste and improve the environment, she added, in addition to lowering prices.

According to a report by CNBC, Google is no longer providing staplers and tapes at print stations as part of a “cost-effectiveness initiative.” A director must also give the go-ahead for any item that costs more than $1,000 for staff.

Also, individuals who do not hold engineering positions will automatically receive a Chromebook. Apple MacBooks were once provided to Google employees.

The business also informed workers that a variety of on-site perks and privileges were available and were being utilized to the fullest extent possible because everyone showed up five days a week.

Google now takes a more flexible stance, requiring employees to work no more than three days per week.

In an internal paper, which Google provided, it was said that numerous services were underutilized, according to the claim.

In a statement, Google admitted that it “made too many muffins on a Monday, saw GBuses run with only one passenger, and offered yoga lessons on a Friday afternoon when people are more likely to be working from home.”

According to previous claims, Google reportedly requested that its employees share desks in particular places and with certain authorities.
