Google Expands Its AI Chatbot Bard To Compete With ChatGPT

This is a battle of AI chatbots and AI language models. ChatGPT and Bard have both gained much popularity, but who is winning the game as of now?

Google’s AI, Bard, has had a slower start compared to ChatGPT by OpenAI. In August, Bard had only 183 million visitors, which is just 13% of ChatGPT’s traffic.

To compete with ChatGPT’s popularity, Google is introducing Bard Extensions, which will allow users to access Google data, and a feature to address incorrect responses.

Google is trying to gain more user trust by making Bard admit when it’s unsure or doesn’t give satisfactory results.

4 Latest Major Updates In Google Bard

Google Bard is getting several new updates, here are the four major updates. Let’s see what they are and how they are going to help you in your daily life.

1. Integration with Google Apps

Bard can now use data from Google apps and services like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Maps, YouTube, and more to provide you more concise responses.

2. Bard Extensions

Bard Extension will now allow users to find and display relevant information from various Google tools.

3. Google it Button

It already exists and now the company has improved it more. You can now easily cross-check Bard’s responses using this button, so that you may evaluate the information against web content.

4. Sharing AI Chat Via Links

You can now share your conversations (with AI tools) with others through a public link. You don’t need to carry your laptop to your friends, colleagues or seniors.

What are Bard Extensions?

Bard Extensions are a feature that allows Bard to find and display relevant information from various Google tools and services.

Bard Extensions make it easier for you to access information from multiple Google portals within the AI chats, so that you won’t have to switch between different apps or tabs.

It will save your time and effort whenever you seek information, as Bard Extensions will make the process more informative and user-friendly.

Competition of Bard vs ChatGPT

ChatGPT has gained immense popularity worldwide and is now among the top 30 websites globally. It entered the AI language model market early thus enjoying significant success. On the other hand, Google’s Bard is striving to catch up in the race with ChatGPT.

Google’s Bard excels in providing up-to-date information from the latest events, but ChatGPT’s free version, ‘GPT-3.5’, falls short in this aspect.

To access the latest information through ‘GPT-4’, we must subscribe to ChatGPT’s Plus premium plan which costs us $20 per month. This is an expense not which is not affordable for everyone. Bard is currently ahead by offering this latest information for free.

We appreciate the new developments of Google Bard including its latest features including Bard Extensions, integrations with other Google products and so on. Bard is consistently upgrading with numerous new features, but it still needs to improve more to meet our expectations.
