Google Allegedly Bans 3 Apps for Stealing User’s Personal Information and Money

Washington – Google recently alleged and revealed that 3 Apps in the Google Play store were stealing personal data. The scary part is that these apps may be on your mobile and could be stealing your money.

In recent times the tech giant has banned around 136 Apps that were found to be malicious in nature.

The name of the 3 Apps that are banned from the Google Play Store is “Blender Photo Editor – Easy Photo Background Editor”, “Magic Photo Lab – Photo Editor”, and “Pix Photo Motion Edit 2021”.

Here are the details on how these apps steal your information: –

Kaspersky, a security firm, detected these applications and expressed that the Facebook Login provision could fool clients into leaving behind their information.

The ‘Login with Facebook’ option on many applications and websites is utilized to rapidly authenticate users and permit them to access the services without creating a new username or password, such as Tinder and Spotify. As per the security firm, these applications utilized sign-in information to take login credentials and access clients’ data.

Customers who have downloaded these applications should delete them from their mobiles manually and preferably change their Facebook login credentials.

People can continue using popular photo editing applications and avoid downloading any malicious app from now on. Before downloading, users must check the privacy policy and the language, such as grammatical and factual errors of these kinds of apps.

Users must try and make a new username password and not forget to verify credentials after downloading App. Keep in mind; many such apps might look authentic.

However, they may not be so by any means. You can often tell the difference between a fake and authentic app by viewing the App’s icon and the developer’s name. Even if the icons or name resembles the original, the developer’s name would possibly be different.

You can check App reviews on Google search, check for developers’ names, permission, and scan before installing them on your mobile, tablet or laptop.
