Google AI-Powered Search Is Now Available In India, Japan

Google has expanded its generative AI search experience to more countries, including India and Japan, in order to compete with Microsoft’s AI-powered Bing search. India and Japan are the first countries outside of the United States to receive this AI-powered search tool.

In these countries, Google’s Search Labs will offer the new AI-powered search tool called SGE (Search Generative Experience).

This tool adds a conversational mode to Search, allowing users to ask Google questions about a topic and receive answers, similar to an AI chatbot.

Users in India and Japan can use this feature in their native languages by speaking or typing a query.

In India, users have the option to listen to the responses, which is a preferred feature, and there is a language toggle to assist multilingual speakers in switching between Hindi and English. Search advertisements will continue to run on every page in both countries.

Additionally, SGE is launching a new feature that makes it easier for users to find and access web pages that support the data provided by AI. This feature will roll out to Japan and India in the coming weeks.

It remains to be seen whether Google’s new AI search will provide accurate results or return strange results, similar to the initial issues faced by Bing AI.

Google’s generative AI search tool competes with Microsoft’s Bing. The expansion of this tool to India and Japan aims to provide users with a simpler way to access information and uncover new viewpoints and insights.

Now Microsoft Bing and Google Search are both AI-powered search engines. However, there are some differences between them.

Google has dominated search for the past two decades. It accounts for about 93% of the global search-engine market, while Bing accounts for about 3%, according to Statcounter, a web analytics service

As per reports, Bing’s AI-powered search engine has a huge, user-friendly search box and detailed responses that make it so much better than Google.

Bing AI allows you to see all 1,000 characters of your request while Google offers a one-line search box. Bing’s layout is minimalist and feels more accessible than Google’s interface.

Bing also offers more personalized answers. It remains to see who will attract more users by improving their services & interface.
