Ghulam Nabi Blames Rahul Gandhi For His Exit From Congress

The veteran politician made it clear that he will not seek re-election when he spoke after the release of his book “Azaad.”

Experienced lawmaker Ghulam Nabi Azad claimed on Wednesday that Rahul Gandhi was solely to blame for his decision to leave the Congress and that one needed to be “spineless” to remain in the venerable group.

Azad reminisced on the UPA II administration and asserted that Manmohan Singh, the prime minister at the time, should not have backed down when Rahul overturned an Ordinance that the government had introduced to override a Supreme Court decision that disqualified guilty MPs and MLAs. Azad, who was a minister at the time, chastised the UPA administration for standing still in the face of Rahul’s opposition.

The senior politician was speaking following the publication of his autobiography “Azaad” when he made it apparent that he would not run for office again.

Azad asserted that Rahul would not have been expelled from the House of Representatives today if the Congressman hadn’t destroyed the Ordinance put up by the UPA administration in 2013.

Azad, who was a minister at the time, chastised the UPA administration for standing still in the face of Rahul’s opposition.

The senior politician was speaking following the publication of his autobiography “Azaad” when he made it apparent that he would not run for office again.

Azad was quoted by the PTI as saying “Yes” in response to the question of if Rahul is the reason he isn’t a member of the Congress. Furthermore to me, there are at least a dozen other leaders of all ages… A person becomes spineless and needs surgery after being elected to Congress.

Azad added that no one is “untouchable” in politics today and left open the possibility of collaborating with the BJP after the elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Azad asserted that Rahul would not have been expelled from the House of Representatives today if the Congressman hadn’t destroyed the Ordinance put up by the UPA administration in 2013.

“We passed the Ordinance because we knew we had to be prepared for the chance that other parties would acquire power and use it against us. He continued, “It was a weak cabinet and it ought to have introduced the law, continuing to stand by that choice even after Rahul Gandhi scorned and tore it up.”

“By remaining mute at the moment, the Congress party committed a mistake… Rahul Gandhi wouldn’t have lost today if only that had happened. The person who tore it is currently being used against them.

He should have recognised it then. “Don’t raise your voice now; you made holes in your own wall; others can see through them,” someone once said. “Khud kiye aapne deewaron mein suraakh, ab koin jhaank rahe hain to shor kyon.”

Azad, who spent 50 years working for the Congress, further mocked some of the senior figures inside the group by saying, “I am 2,000% more Congressi than people who handle (politics) on Twitter. I am a 24-carat Congress by conviction; they aren’t even 18-carats.

When asked if he would like to rejoin the party, he answered, “But they don’t want people like us.” They look for active Twitter users and declare that the party would win 500 seats after the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

He said, “Kaash agar Sonia Gandhi ke haath mein hota to hum yahan aate nahin (If it had been in Sonia Gandhi’s hands, we would not be here today)… If it had been in Sonia Gandhi’s hands, we would not be here. Sonia Gandhi is unclear.

Anand Sharma and Janardhan Dwivedi, both members of Congress, were present. Many members of the opposition to the government as well as Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia were present.

In the meanwhile, Azad was assailed by the Congress. In a press conference held at the AICC headquarters, Congress’ media director Pawan Khera lambasted Azad and accused him of defending an ideology that he had opposed for fifty years.

Now, it is absurd for him to sing psalms in front of the king or queen. He said, “The person whom our colleagues thought to be God has shown not even to be a clay idol.”

Khera observed that he was now denouncing the very party that had given him so much.

“If a leader who served the party for 50 years betrayed it, how would the party trust employees like us?He has been professing to be free for the previous two days, but in actuality, he has become a slave, or ghulam, ” the man said.

Ghulam Nabi Azad and Jyotiraditya Scindia have profited significantly from the Congress system and its leadership. They offer strong proof that the kindness that was offered to them was unjustified as time went on. Jairam Ramesh, director of the Congress’ communications division, claims that after protracted concealment, they now reveal their true nature.

Earlier in the day, Scindia launched a vicious attack against the Congress, asserting that the group no longer has any philosophy. “This Congress now has just one ideology, and that is the ideology of a traitor, an ideology that works against the country,” Scindia proclaimed.
