The ministers, leaders & representatives of G20 countries are scheduled to take part in the G20 Tourism meetings in Goa in June. They will also attend Yoga sessions.
Delegates and ministers from the G20 countries are set to participate in yoga sessions as part of the G20 Tourism Meetings taking place in Goa, in June.
The events coincide with International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on June 21. In addition to cultural engagements, the delegates will have the opportunity to experience “Yoga in Goa.”
The G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting will be held on June 19-20, followed by the G20 Ministerial Meeting on June 21-22.
The purpose of these meetings is to address global tourism challenges and opportunities and discuss the outcomes of previous working group meetings, with a focus on adopting a joint declaration on tourism cooperation.
During the events, G20 ministers will participate in a yoga session at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, while delegates will perform yoga asanas (postures) at Dona Paula beach in Goa.
This will allow them to experience the ancient tradition of yoga, which holds significance in Indian culture.

These areas are vital for promoting sustainable development goals in the tourism sector by 2030.
The G20 Tourism Meetings in Goa aim to achieve two key deliverables: the Goa Roadmap and Action Plan for tourism as a means to accomplish sustainable development goals, and a ministerial communique that will endorse the roadmap.
These documents build upon the outcomes of previous meetings in Gujarat and West Bengal and demonstrate the commitment of G20 members to prioritize tourism as a catalyst for sustainable development.
Preparations for the Goa meetings have been underway, with a recce meeting conducted by the G20 chief coordinator and Union Tourism Secretary.
The Union tourism secretary and the Chief Secretary of Goa have reviewed the preparations and presented the progress to the Chief Minister.
By incorporating yoga sessions into the G20 Tourism Meetings, India aims to showcase its cultural heritage and emphasize the importance of holistic well-being in the tourism sector.
The events will provide a platform for dialogue and cooperation among G20 countries to shape the future of tourism in a sustainable manner.
