Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe passed away after being shot by an attacker in Nara. There will be ‘National Mourning’ in India on 9th July.
Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe died on Friday. Abe was attacked this very morning. The attack happened when Shinzo Abe was giving a speech in the city of Nara.
The attacker shot two bullets at him from behind, as a result Shinzo Abe fell to the ground and his body started bleeding heavily.
According to the Japanese media reports, the accused of the attack on Shinzo Abe has confessed his crime. He has said that he wanted to kill Shinzo as he was dissatisfied with them.
The accused attacker has been identified as a former part of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that we have deep respect for Shinzo Abe, so tomorrow there will be a day of national mourning in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Shinzo Abe. He wrote in the tweet,
“I am shocked and saddened by the tragic passing of one of my dearest friends, Shinzo Abe. He was a great global statesman, administrator. He dedicated his life to making Japan and the world a better place.”
He also shared a picture from his most recent meeting with his dear friend, Shinzo Abe in Tokyo.
The Prime Minister said that Shinzo Abe was always passionate about strengthening India-Japan relations, he had just taken over as the President of the Japan-India Association.
