Fly Direct From Mumbai To Melbourne, Air India To Start New Route

Starting December 15, Air India airline will begin direct flights from Mumbai to Melbourne. This is a new step they’re taking to expand their routes around the world.

Currently, Air India has daily flights going from Delhi to Melbourne and Sydney. That means every week, there are 28 flights between India and Australia.

So why is this Mumbai to Melbourne route special? Well, these flights will go three times a week. It will add almost 40,000 more seats every year to travel to Victoria in Australia.

Victoria has a large Indian community. In fact, about 40 percent of all Indians living in Australia are in Victoria.

The main idea behind this new route is to meet the growing need for people who want to visit their friends and family. But that’s not all. The flights will also help people going for business or just for fun.

Nipun Aggarwal, who’s an important person at Air India, said this new route is part of Air India’s big plans to connect India with more places around the world through direct flights. He seems really excited about it!

It’s going to be Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. This plane will have two kinds of seats: 18 flat beds in the business class and 238 regular seats in the economy class.

What’s more, people coming from 17 different Indian cities can easily get to Melbourne with just one more stop in either Delhi or Mumbai.

Even Australia is happy about this. Natalie Hutchins, who is a minister in Victoria’s government, said this new route will help tourism and create jobs in Melbourne. She also mentioned it’s a good way for businesses in Victoria to connect with one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, that’s India!
