Finally, Navi Mumbai To Get Its First Metro Line After 12 Years Wait

You will get to ride the Metro in Navi Mumbai from the 15th of October. You can travel from 11 stations from Belapur to Pendhar, at just ₹10-₹40 on Metro Line 1.

After a long wait of 12 years, Navi Mumbai is finally getting its first metro line. The Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 will be 11.1 kilometers long, connecting Belapur to Pendhar.

The new Metro Line has received clearance from the Commission of Railway Safety and is ready to start operations.

The exact date of the inauguration has not been confirmed yet, but it is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 15.

The opening of the metro line is set to make a big impact on public transportation and connectivity in the region. It will provide a convenient and efficient mode of transportation for the people of Navi Mumbai.

The project has faced several setbacks and delays over the years, including issues with contractors, lack of experts, and funding challenges. However, these obstacles have been overcome, and the metro line is now ready to serve the public.

In addition to the metro line, Prime Minister Modi is also expected to inaugurate other projects in Navi Mumbai, including –

  • The Orange Gate tunnel project of MMRDA
  • The Central Railway Mumbai division Digha station.

These projects will also improve transportation and infrastructure in the Mumbai region.

List of Metro Stations In Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1

The Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 has 11 stations. It has a place to fix and take care of the trains at Taloja and two places to provide power at Panchanand and Kharghar. As per reports, there will be more than 10 stations on this metro line. Here is a list of 11 stations:

  3. Science Park
  4. Sector 11 Kharghar
  5. Utsav Chowk
  6. Central Park
  7. Sector 14 Kharghar
  8. Sector 34 Kharghar
  9. Petha-pada

  11. Panch-nand

Fare To Travel Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1

The Navi Mumbai Metro will have different prices for tickets, ranging from ₹10 to ₹40 for a one-way trip. The In-charge of the metro project, CIDCO, decided on these prices in 2021.

CIDCO has also chosen MahaMetro to operate the metro for the next 10 years, and this will cost them ₹500 crore.
