Films Of Aamir Khan & Akshay Kumar Get Poor Opening At Box Office

Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ started with low performance at the box office on the first day. Are they also going to flop?

The movies “Laal Singh Chaddha” by Aamir Khan and “Raksha Bandhan” by Akshay Kumar were released in theaters on Thursday amidst boycott cries. Call it the result of the protest or the activity of the Rakhi festival, but both movies’ box office performance has slowed down.

The audience has noticed a slightly fewer attendance in the theaters during the AM performances. But “Lal Singh Chaddha” is still in the lead, while “Raksha Bandhan” appears to be struggling on the first day.

The industry has been astonished by the first lackluster reception both films received over the past four months, given the way Bollywood pictures have been selling out theaters.

Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, debuted on 3350 screens nationwide whereas Raksha Bandhan, starring Akshay Kumar, debuted on 2500. Thursday morning programmes of “Lal Singh Chaddha” had an audience occupancy of 15% to 20%.

Approximately 20% of the audience was visible, based on the number of seats in the theater. For “Raksha Bandhan,” however, this percentage was between 12 and 15 percent.

Now, word-of-mouth at the box office will determine the future of both movies. In other words, if the audience likes the movie, then they will show up in the theaters to see it.

To be aware of this is one more thing. The “Lal Singh Chaddha” advance booking is close to Rs 11 crore. Raksha Bandhan costs about 5 crores. It is a significant difference.

Additionally, because it has more screens than “Raksha Bandhan,” “Lal Singh Chaddha” can generate more money if multiplex patrons prefer it to that film. In contrast, “Ek Villain Returns” can still cause audience division in single-screen theaters.
