Facebook’s working on the new wearable with AR, will let you type on any surface

Facebook is working on a new wrist sensor wearable that will be connected to augmented reality glasses, enabling you to type on any surface with a basic tap of your fingers. The device is being created by a startup called CTRL-Labs which was bought by Facebook in 2019. With the new AR technology, you would no longer require a keyboard to type.

The wristband is simply going to decode the signals from your mind and read the actions that you are about to perform. It simply decodes the analog movement into digital commands.

The big social media giant stated that the gadget would be able to command its augmented reality (AR) glasses which are at present under progress and are expected to launch end of 2021.

Moreover, after wearing the wristband, the users would be able to communicate with the virtual world via just their finger movement, the company stated in a blog.

The AR-supported wearable wristband would be able to feel the nerve signals to decipher complex hand signs and movements and will provide full control to the end-user.

The new wearable is at present without a brand name and is one of the major steps for Facebook, which is anticipated to be the biggest AR technology venture when it arrives in the market.

All the big tech companies, such as Amazon, Google, and Apple Inc. are also rumored to be operating on their own set of AR and VR technology projects.

Many experts believe that smart glasses will ultimately replace Smartphones, however, the wrist sensor bands will be a breakthrough in AR technology.

It’s an electromyography wearable that will help translate nerve signals into digital commands. When you will wear it on the wrist, the only thing you would need is to just flick your fingers in space and give virtual inputs, whether you wear a Virtual Reality headset or even while interacting with the physical world.
