On Friday, an aircraft carrying shipment of essential supplies to fight coronavirus pandemic was sent by members of the European Union. Considering the impact of the second wave on the healthcare sector of the country, EU state members have come forward to help the country in its fight against Covid-19.
Indian officials shwe their gratitude towards the help offered by the EU members and External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi acknowledged the solidarity shown by the EU members in helping India. The list of countries include Germany, Netherlands and Portugal.
In his tweet, Bagchi credited EU for continuing to show solidarity with India in these difficult times and added, “Aircraft arrives carrying 223 ventilators, 25000 vials of Remdesivir and other medical equipment from Germany, 30000 vials of Remdesivir from Netherlands and 5500 vials of Remdesivir from Portugal. Value support of our European Union partners.”
Another country came forward to help India on friday. Kazakhstan had sent 5.6 million masks/respirators to the struggling country to combat the virus attack and relieve some strain from the health infrastructure.
After the shipments arrived, Bagchi took to twitter to put a stamp on the strategic partnership of the two nations saying that this effort from Kazakhstan’s side has further deepened the strategic partnership between the two nations.
After the grim satte of the pandemic management and the healthcare collapse was brought into the global view, many nations stepped up to support the country by providing essential supplies. The United Arab Emirates, the United States, Britain and Russia were few of the countries that helped India fight Covid-19.
