Tesla Aims for Trillion-Dollar Profits with $20K Optimus Robots, Says Elon Musk

During the Annual Shareholders Meeting of Tesla Elon Musk unveiled exciting plans for the Optimus humanoid robots. He envisions a future where these robots not only outnumber humans but also play an important role in many industries.

Elon Musk shared some sneaks about his speech on his official platform X:

Musk shared his vision for Tesla’s Optimus bots and said that everyone will want one of these robots, which will be used extensively in industries to manufacture products.

Tesla’s goal is to produce a billion robots per year, aiming for at least a 10 percent market share.

How they will do it? Musk also answered this question in the meeting, CEO Elon Musk said that the estimated cost of producing each robot could be about $10,000. If Tesla sold each of the robot of a cost $20,000  then easily Tesla could earn a trillion dollars in annual profit!

During his speech Musk said- “Let’s say the production rate is probably something like a billion humanoid robots a year. If Tesla captures 10 percent of that market, it could mean producing around 100 million Optimus units annually. For comparison, the auto industry produces roughly 100 million vehicles per year, so it’s a similar scale.” “We could make one for maybe $10,000 at really high scale. It’s smaller and would be less expensive than a car. If we sold it for $20,000 at large-scale volume, Tesla would essentially make about a trillion dollars in profit each year.”

Musk predicted that the ratio of humanoid robots to humans would be at least 2 to 1, with an estimated 10 to 30 billion robots worldwide.

Tesla shareholders approved Musk’s record pay package.  Musk managed to garner majority support. In the meeting that institutional investors were divided but retail investors were with Musk.

Retail investors are showing support on social media and Musk is actively engaging with them.  However, Musk still faces legal challenges in Delaware, where a judge criticized the independence of the Tesla board.
