ED Summons Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren For Illegal Mining Case

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is accused in an Illegal Mining Case. Thus ED summoned him to be present at the ED office in Ranchi.

Hemant Soren, the chief minister of Jharkhand, has appeared at the ED office in Ranchi after being called by them to testify in a case involving illicit mining. 

Hemant Soren stated that the accusations made against him don’t seem to be at all plausible before his appearance before the Enforcement Directorate in Ranchi. 

He added that organizations ought to conduct thorough investigations before reaching any firm conclusions.

Such behaviors engender state ambiguity. It could be referred to as a government-destabilizing plot. Ever since we took office, our enemies have been planning to overthrow the government. 

There were attempts to bring this submarine of conspiracy out of the water, but it lacked the strength to do so, stated Soren.

Before Hemant Soren’s appearance before the ED on Thursday, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha members had assembled in Ranchi, Jharkhand, at the Morabadi stadium to show their solidarity.

So far, the agency has detained three persons in the case, including Soren’s assistant Pankaj Mishra. The illicit mining fraud, according to the ED’s charge sheet, cost Rs 1,000 crore. 

The charging sheet further stated that Mishra’s home was where the signed or unsigned Soren checks were found in July.

On November 17, Soren was called in for interrogation a second time. Soren had already declined questioning on November 3 due to an official engagement.
