ECI Made Election Education Fun For Kids By Introducing Comics

The Election Commission of India has called Sabu & Chacha Choudhary to educate our kids about elections, with entertainment & fun.

The political news sections are often filled with controversies, jibes, accusations of any news portal. But today’s story is a little different, it may take you to your childhood memories, when your heroes were different in your dreamy world.

The period of elections is very familiar to us, but what about the kids? They may often get confused about what their elders are talking about.

It doesn’t mean that they should know everything about politics, but at least they should be aware of the process, so that when they grow up, they know how to act and react to the situations.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has come up with a creative way to teach and inform kids about elections and voting, and that is comic books!

They’ve released two comic books featuring popular characters like Chacha Chaudhary, Sabu, Raaka, Dhamaka Singh, and Billoo. If you’re also a 90s kid, you must know them very well.

Yes, it’s true that today’s generation are too busy with smartphones,  online content and games. But we know the value of reading books.

So it would be a great approach to reintroduce our younger generation with books. Plus, there is also a class where parents offer their kids to read comics and other books in Tabs and Kindle-like devices.

These comics are designed to help children understand the importance of elections and how the voting process works in any particular region.

The primary comic book is titled as “Chacha Chaudhary aur Chunavi Dangal,” and it’s published by Pran Comics. It contains 10 short stories that portray different aspects of elections.

The ECI has planned to distribute 30,000 printed copies of these comics to kids for free. Children can also access the digital versions of these comics (using tabs, computers or Kindle). The goal of ECI is to make learning about elections fun and engaging for the little creative minds.

This comic book initiative is a part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, which is run by the ECI.

The SVEEP aims to educate voters, raise awareness about the voting process, and promote voter literacy. They hope that these books will capture the attention and interest of our children, who will eventually become future voters of the country.

The Election Commission of India is also preparing for the upcoming elections. There will be Assembly elections in states like Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana later this year. The major Lok Sabha elections are also set for the next year 2024.
