EAM S Jaishankar Thanks World, Slams Rahul Gandhi

S Jaishankar has thanked the world for supporting after the Odisha train accident. Plus, he gently criticized Rahul Gandhi for defaming India in other countries.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has stated that the world showed solidarity with India following the tragic train accident in Odisha’s Balasore, which resulted in the loss of over 275 lives and left more than 1000 injured.

Jaishankar highlighted the condolences and support received from leaders and foreign ministers worldwide, emphasizing the interconnectedness and globalized nature of today’s world.

He expressed gratitude for the outpouring of sympathy and messages of solidarity, noting that the tragedy in India brought forth a collective response from the international community.

Jaishankar, who was visiting Namibia to strengthen bilateral relations, acknowledged that while physically present in Namibia, his thoughts and prayers were with India.

The train accident involved three separate trains and occurred at the Bahanaga Bazar station in the Balasore district. Jaishankar’s statement reflects the recognition of the global support India received during this devastating incident.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has indirectly criticized Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks made during his visit to the United States.

Jaishankar emphasized that when individuals travel outside their home country, it is important to recognize that certain matters go beyond politics.

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Indian National Congress, had criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government’s policies during his US visit.

He referred to PM Modi as a “specimen” and accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of capturing all institutions in India. He attempted to defame India in foreign countries.

Speaking at a diaspora event in Cape Town, Jaishankar highlighted the collective responsibility and national interest that should be upheld while abroad.

He stated that while he is prepared to engage in vigorous debates within India, he refrains from indulging in politics when traveling overseas.

Jaishankar urged individuals to address their differences within the country and underscored the significance of remembering larger issues beyond political disagreements.
