DigiYatra: Now Your Face Is The Boarding Pass On Airports

The Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has launched the DigiYatra program for flight travelers for seamless movement at Delhi, Varanasi, and Bengaluru airport.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, the minister of civil aviation, inaugurated DigiYatra on Thursday. This initiative uses facial recognition technology to let travelers into the airport in the country’s capital.

Airport check-in will be paperless with DigiYatra, and traveler data can be automatically processed solely on facial recognition technology at multiple checkpoints, covering security checkpoint locations.

DigiYatra has been introduced on Thursday at airports in Bangalore and Varanasi in addition to Delhi.

A passenger must register their information on the DigiYatra app utilizing Aadhaar-based verification and a self-image scan in order to use the service.

The boarding pass must be scanned in the following stage, after which the credentials must be given to the airport.

The traveler must first scan their bar-coded boarding pass at the airport e-gate before the facial recognition system located at the e-gate verifies their identification and travel documentation.

The passenger can use the e-gate to enter the airport once this process is complete.

The traveler must adhere to the standard process to get through security and board the airplane. DIAL released the DigiYatra app’s beta version on August 15.

The national capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) is run by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL). It serves as the biggest airport in the nation.

DigiYatra, which uses facial recognition technology, will streamline and speed up the boarding procedure.

DigiYatra will also ensure increased security at the airport because only authorized travelers can enter the terminal and passenger data is verified against the airline’s departure control system.

The central organization for DigiYatra is the non-profit Digi Yatra Foundation.

Airport Authority of India (AAI), Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (HIAL), and Mumbai International Airport Ltd are the foundation’s stockholders (MIAL).
