After the many warnings from Delhi Police about fake ticket sales for Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert, that is much-awaited ‘Dil-Luminati Tour’, a Delhi woman fell victim to the scam and lost Rs 15,000. Her friend also lost Rs 6,000 in a similar scam.
The victim Mahima Jalan said that the scammer was a 32-year-old man who even provided his Aadhaar card to gain her trust. Reflecting on the incident, she admitted that trusting him was a mistake. She has since filed a complaint with the cyber cell.
She posted it on her social media attaching the scammer account name in the caption –
“This account, Dharmendra Singh (Crigyan07), scammed me and others on X (formerly Twitter) by selling fake tickets for Diljit Dosanjh’s show. He took Rs 15,000 from me, Rs 6,000 from my friend, and possibly more from others,” Jalan wrote in a post on X. She explained her efforts to contact the scammer through different numbers but was unsuccessful. Singh blocked her on X after tricking her into the scam.
Mahima Jalan is asking for help and support over social media. She is hoping the pressure will force him to refund the money. “Maybe out of fear or shame, he’ll return the money!” she added.
Many users responded to her post, warning others about similar scams and advising against buying tickets through unverified sellers online.
