Congress party leader, Rahul Gandhi has announced in their Karnataka election manifesto that they will ban ‘Bajrang Dal’. Previously, the party was also against Ram Mandir.
The Congress party, in its manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka, has promised to take firm action against Bajrang Dal as this organization is spreading hatred. The party even mentioned that it might “impose a ban” on such Hindu organizations.
This has led to an all-out attack on the Congress party by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who accused the party of being against Hindu religion.
PM Modi said that first the Congress party locked Lord Ram, a Hindu deity, and now they are vowing to lock those who chant “Jai Bajrang Bali,” a slogan often used by Bajrang Dal members.
The Prime Minister went on to say that it is the country’s misfortune that Congress had a problem with Lord Rama, and now it has difficulty with those who say ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’.
He added that the Congress has decided to “lock Hanuman,” referring to the Hindu god, in its manifesto.
The statement by Rahul Gandhi and Congress has been seen as an attempt to polarize voters on religious lines ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections.
On the other hand, PM Modi has maintained that BJP is against all forms of hatred and violence, irrespective of religion or caste.
However, this is not the first time that the Congress party has been accused of being anti-Hindu. The party has also been accused of appeasing minority communities at the cost of Hindus.
The party has been criticized for its stand on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, with many accusing it of playing vote bank politics.
The Congress party and its leader, Rahul Gandhi, have been vocal about their commitment to support Muslim society. However, the BJP and its allies have accused the Congress of being anti-Hindu and have accused the party of playing vote bank politics.
The issue of religion and communalism has been a major factor in Indian politics, and parties have been accused of using it to polarize voters.
