CM Yogi Discusses Action Plan For UP Development With World Bank

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his optimism about the state’s association with the World Bank, stating that it would be beneficial for Uttar Pradesh.
A delegation from the World Bank, led by Executive Director Parameswaran Iyer, visited the state and praised the development efforts undertaken by the government in the past six years.

Adityanath mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has made planned efforts to improve its economic status and has moved away from the label of an underdeveloped state.
He cited data from NITI Aayog, indicating that the state has lifted 5.5 crore people out of poverty since 2017. Uttar Pradesh is now regarded as a leading economy in the country.

The World Bank team commended the state’s progress in various sectors, including infrastructure development, industrialization, garbage disposal, poverty alleviation, planned urbanization, and environment protection.
They also appreciated the state government’s approach of adopting sector-wise action plans for development.

The focus of the World Bank’s mission has been poverty alleviation, but it now places special emphasis on environment protection as well. The delegation believes that Uttar Pradesh can play a significant role in this direction.

During the meeting, discussions centered on mutual cooperation between the state government and the World Bank, with a focus on preparing an action plan for future development projects.

Adityanath highlighted the state’s achievements, including the operation of 96 lakh MSME units that contribute to employment and make UP a hub for exports. He emphasized that the state is working to preserve its cultural and spiritual heritage.

The CM also shared the state government’s goal of making UP a trillion-dollar economy and stated that UP is not only a leading state in terms of ease of doing business but also for ease of living.
He mentioned the provision of toilets, houses, and health cover to millions of people under various government schemes in the past six years.
