China Brings Surveillance Device, Spyware During G20, Refused To Check Bags

A Chinese Delegation is accused of bringing surveillance devices and spyware in India, during the G20 summit. He even refused to get his bag checked.

The grandeur of the G20 Summit was underway in the heart of New Delhi, a gathering of global leaders, and all eyes were on the diplomatic proceedings.

However, beneath the surface, a quietly unfolding drama centered around the Chinese delegation has caught the attention of security agencies.

Sources have revealed that the Chinese delegation arrived at the prestigious Taj Palace Hotel with a bag that seemed unusually large and suspicious. It wasn’t just the size; it was the nature of its contents that raised alarms – it was believed to contain spyware.

When security personnel asked for a routine check, mentioning security protocols, the Chinese side refused, citing diplomatic immunity. They insisted that the bag was off-limits to inspection.

This refusal didn’t sit well with the Indian security equipment, and they escalated the matter. As this bag was deemed so unusual and suspicious. Diplomatic security is a recognized procedure during such international events.

The bag, holding what could potentially be surveillance equipment, was sent to the Chinese embassy for further examination.

The security concerns arose because, first, the bag’s contents were unusual for a diplomatic delegation, especially one already under high security as per international standards. Second, it was said to contain equipment that seemed far from being just security gadgets.

The mystery deepened when it was revealed that this particular Chinese delegate had requested a “separate and private internet connection” at the hotel. The management of the hotel declined this request, which led to a 12-hour-long drama.

During this tense standoff, security personnel tried to persuade the delegate to get his bag scanned, emphasizing that it was compulsory. However, the Chinese delegation stood firm, refusing to subject their belongings to any scrutiny.

In the end, it took the intervention of the Chinese embassy to resolve the issue. The Chinese security agreed to remove the equipment from the hotel and transfer it to their embassy, thus putting an end to the dramatic standoff.

Now, what makes this incident particularly concerning is the timing. The G20 Summit was already a high-stakes diplomatic event, and tensions often simmer beneath the surface.

With China’s worsening image on the global stage and its recent diplomatic challenges with Western leaders, this unusual incident adds another layer of suspense to the international dynamics.

It remains to be seen whether it will have any lasting implications for diplomatic relations between India and China.

But for now, it’s an alert for all other nations about international diplomacy, security concerns, and the landscape of global politics.

China is already accused of spying balloons over the military bases of the US and Canada. Several countries have already banned China’s  smartphones and hundreds of Chinese mobile apps.
