Chehre producer addresses Rhea’s absence, says was waiting for her to be comfortable

Rhea Chakraborty was signed for a movie Chehre before she found herself tangled between the murder of her former co-star and beau Sushant Singh Raj. Chakraborty was expected to make a fresh start at the movies this year as it was earlier announced by Rumi Jaffrey.

But contrary to the expectations of the fans and the critiques, the actor was attacked viciously on social media and was put under immense pressure for her involvement in the case with Rajput and that led the makers of the movie to not let Rhea be included in the project and share the screen space with Amitabh Bachchan.

The poster of the movie was released on February 21 but the poster did not include Chakraborty and since then people have made assumptions about the acor not being informed about her removal. Even on the social media handle, where the stars promoted teh poster, the actor was not tagged nor was mentioned in any sort of way.

It was concluded that due to the backlash, the makers have restrained from using her anywhere where the film is being promoted. The producer of the movie, Anand Pandit did not comment on the matter in February but only now, he has addressed the issue.

He opened about this in his interview with the Indian Express where he revealed that the film revolves around Bachchan and Emraan’s characters so the focus must be on them and not the ‘smaller artistes’. His remarks also stirred quite a controversy as he termed the other actors as smaller artistes.

As per the news website, the producer said, “It’s Mr Bachchan and Emraan’s film. So, my focus has to be on them. Then there are other artists. My focus cannot be on the other artists. My focus has to be on my lead actors. That’s one. So, I cannot promote my smaller artists.”

He was asked about why other actors such as Krystal D’ Souza and Raghubir Yadav were being promoted to which the producer said that Krstal is only being promoted because she is the love interest of Emraan. This is the reason makers have chosen to promote her.

He then specifically addressed the issue of Rhea not being included in the poster as he said that he chose not to include Chakraborty as that would mean a lot of media attention on the actor and that could take a toll on her especially if she participated in these engagements.

He added, “A lot of issues have happened in Rhea’s life over the last one year. I never wanted to give another turmoil to her… till the time she is not comfortable (promoting the film). For my project or benefit, I don’t want to create ripples in somebody’s life.”
