ChatGPT Creator Sam Altman To Meet PM Modi, MapMyIndia CEO

OpenAI CEO & ChatGPT maker Sam Altman is in India & set to meet PM Modi. He will also meet his Stanford friend & MapMyIndia CEO Rohan Verma.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is visiting India and is set to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During his visit, Altman discussed India’s potential role in AI regulation and its impact on jobs. 

He praised India’s contributions to the field of technology and suggested that the government should focus on integrating AI with other services to improve government offerings. 

Altman also expressed his bullishness on nuclear fusion technology and mentioned his investments in Helion Energy, a company working towards building the world’s first fusion plant for clean energy.

During his visit to India, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman met Rohan Verma, CEO of MapmyIndia and his former friend at Stanford University. 

Rohan shared a photo on Twitter, expressing his excitement to meet Altman and praising his positive impact on technology and society. 

Altman, known for creating the AI chatbot ChatGPT, is currently on a world tour and is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other government officials in India. Altman’s visit has garnered attention and acclaim from leaders worldwide.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman discussed the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on jobs, highlighting that while certain jobs may become obsolete due to automation, new opportunities will emerge. 

He stressed the need for proactive measures to adapt and re-skill workers to meet the changing job market. Altman emphasized that AI should be seen as an enabler rather than a threat to human capabilities. 

He expressed support for government-funded AI projects and praised India’s potential in producing significant results through such initiatives. 

Altman also welcomed regulation and expressed confidence in technological advancements to combat the risks associated with deepfakes and fraud.
