CES 2023: Acer Smart Bike Desk Charges Your Laptop & Phone By Pedaling

Can you exercise while using your laptop along with saving some electricity? Sounds crazy, right? Well, Acer made it possible through its latest Bike Desk.

Acer believes that the eKinekt BD3 will encourage you to pay attention to your health. 

Acer unveiled a new sort of desk bike at CES 2023 in Las Vegas that combines the ideas of a fitness bike with a smart desk and allows users to pedal to generate electricity to charge their devices. 

This smart bike desk is neither a smart desk nor a Peloton bike. It is instead a hybrid of the two.

Acer claims that as the cyclist pedals, the eKinekt transforms kinetic energy into an electric charge.

On the bike desk, one hour of continuous pedaling at 60 RPM may provide 75 watts of self-generated power, which can be used to recharge laptops and other electronic devices. You create your own electricity, you read that correctly.

The computer industry behemoth said that the eKinekt BD3 harnesses Kinetic energy as users pedal on the bike desk, using the kinetic energy created to power gadgets like computers and smartphones. 

One hour of continuous pedaling at 60 RPM on the cycle desk may provide 75 watts of self-generated power, according to Acer.

Additionally, a smartphone app and LCD display are available to show information on their progress. 

Real-time progress, distance traveled, speed, and an estimated amount of calories burned are basically all provided by the app.

There are two ways for users to move the bike: In working mode, the desk is moved closer to the chair so you may sit upright and pedal and type at the same time. 

The desktop is more forward in Sports mode, allowing you to lean in for more leg room. The table height and seat of the eKinekt are also adjustable, and you may change the resistance of the bike as well. 

According to Acer, the eKinekt’s desk and protective covering are constructed from post-consumer recycled plastic.

The Acer eKinekt BD3 will be available in June for $999 and EUR 999 (about ₹81,900) in North America and Europe, respectively.
