The Madhya Pradesh government is working on a technology called ‘DigiPass’. It aims to streamline the interactions between the public & the government.
The government of Madhya Pradesh is planning to introduce a system called DigiPass to improve interactions between the public and government offices. Its system will be similar to DigiYatra.
As you know, DigiYatra has streamlined airport processes significantly. Similarly, DigiPass aims to enhance administrative procedures in government ministries and offices.
Abhijeet Agrawal is the Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation. He announced this ‘DigiPass’ initiative during the AWS Public Sector Symposium in New Delhi.
DigiPass is expected to introduce paperless and efficient workflows. If the initiative is done successfully, it will make government operations more effective.
DigiYatra is a contactless facial recognition technology already in use at several Indian airports. It simplifies the airport experience, from entrance to boarding gate, saving passengers time.
The system relies on Facial Recognition Technology (FRT), which collects data for identification. However, some people were concerned about privacy. Privacy advocates worry that DigiYatra might compromise personal data and infringe on privacy rights.
Well, the truth is that once facial features are captured, relevant authorities access this data, and delete within 24 hours after a passenger’s departure.

DigiYatra was launched in December 2022. The facial recognition technology offers passengers a fast & paperless airport experience.
The flight travelers are very happy and satisfied with this technology as it saves them lots of time and they don’t have to stand in queues for a long time.
The DigiYatra system is set to be implemented in the airports of Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Guwahati this month. It will soon be implemented across major cities.
We are expecting that Madhya Pradesh’s DigiPass program will also enhance government efficiency, like DigiYatra. Let’s wait and see how the government will implement DigiPass, and whether it’ll be beneficial or not!
