BSF Shot Down 2 Pakistani Drones Smuggling 2.6 Kg Heroin

The BSF shot down 2 Pakistani drones at India-Pakistan border, near Amritsar which were smuggling 2.6 kg heroin into India from Pakistan.

On Friday, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Punjab’s Amritsar successfully intercepted and shot down two drones from Pakistan, preventing a smuggling attempt. The BSF recovered approximately 2.6 kg of suspected heroin during the operation.

The first incident occurred in the Udhar Dhariwal village of Amritsar district when BSF troops heard the sound of a drone. They immediately responded by firing and managed to intercept the drone.

The black quadcopter, identified as a “DJI Matrice 300 RTK” model, was found in a broken condition in the farming fields during the search. The BSF discovered that the drone was being used to smuggle narcotics.

Shortly after, in another farming field in the same area, the BSF intercepted a second drone. The troops fired at the drone and recovered two packets of suspected heroin attached to it with the help of an iron ring. The drone, also a quadcopter of the “DJI Matrice RTK 300” make, was recovered from Rattan Khurd village.

The recovered narcotics weighed approximately 2.6 kg in total. These incidents highlight the ongoing attempts by Pakistani entities to smuggle illegal goods, particularly narcotics, into India using drones. Smuggling via drones has become a concerning issue along the India-Pakistan border.

The BSF’s swift action and successful interception of the drones reflect their vigilance and commitment to maintaining the security and integrity of the border.

The use of drones for illegal activities poses a significant threat to national security, as they provide an alternative means for smuggling contraband items.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the need for heightened surveillance and advanced technology to counter such smuggling attempts.

Authorities are constantly adapting their strategies to counter these evolving tactics employed by smugglers.

The interception and neutralization of these drones by the BSF are crucial in preventing the inflow of illegal goods and substances, thereby safeguarding the interests of the nation.
