BRS Leader Jitta Balakrishna Reddy Passes Away, Telangana Loses a Prominent Activist

Telangana activist Jitta Balakrishna Reddy passed away on Friday morning. Reddy had been battling a brain infection and he was receiving treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad for over two months. Unfortunately, his condition worsened, leading to his untimely demise. This loss is impacting on Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party. 

His family members confirmed that Jitta Balakrishna Reddy passed away, and his body is being transported to his native village of Bhuvanagiri. The funeral is expected to take place either this evening or tomorrow. Leaders and supporters of the BRS party are grieving the loss of the dedicated activist.

Political Journey of Balakrishna Reddy

Jitta Balakrishna Reddy was widely known for his involvement in the Telangana movement. In the initial phase of their career, he joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), now known as BRS, following its formation. Over the years his political journey saw him briefly align with the Congress and YSR Congress Party before founding the Yuva Telangana Party. He eventually rejoined the Congress and, in his final political move, returned to the BRS

His passing marks a significant loss for the BRS and the broader Telangana activist community.
