How Did It All Start? (1999)

Salman and Aishwarya’s relationship was one of the hottest topics of conversation in B-Town, from their blissful connection in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam to famous controversies that lasted for years afterwards they broke up.

Salman and Aishwarya’s romance is said to have begun on the set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil Chuke Sanam.

The actress portrayed Salman’s love interest in this film, and their chemistry was evident for the first time.

Close Connections (1999 – 2000)

Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam was the duo’s second on-screen debut after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Things appeared to be ideal for a while as Aishwarya grew familiar to the Khan family and began to participate in their family functions.

Arpita and Alvira Khan, his sisters, had a great bond with her. While the Khan family was pleased with the actors’ friendship, Ash’s family made no secret of their displeasure.

Salman’s First Idiocy (2001)

In a flash of rage, the actor stormed into Aishwarya’s residence on a night in November, 2001 and began pounding on the door.

Residents who observed the incident reportedly informed journalists that Salman repeatedly banged on the door of Aishwarya’s 17th-floor flat for hours, threatening to jump from the roof of Gorakh Hill Tower if she did not let him in.

The drama went on until 3 a.m., when Aish eventually agreed to let him in. Salman’s hands were apparently bleeding from slamming the door.

According to allegations in the media, Salman’s idiotic behavior was influenced by his desire for a marriage pledge from Ash. However she was not in a hurry to marry at the time to focus on her career.

Khan’s Statement In His Defense

Salman confessed that the incident occurred in an interview with the media in 2002. He stated,

“The incident occurred, but the media exaggerated it. Aishwarya and I have a romantic relationship. In a relationship, if you don’t argue, it shows you don’t love each other.

Why would I get into a fight with someone I’ve never met before? Things like these happen between us because we care about each other. Even the cops have prevented me from accessing that building now.”

Salman’s Frenzy & Desperate Behavior (2002)

When Aishwarya attended the 2002 Filmfare Awards with an arm fracture and black sunglasses, the accusations were that Salman had physically attacked her.

During the filming of her film ‘Kuch Naa Kaho,’ Salman allegedly went on a rampage and even wrecked her car.

Later in 2002, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan acknowledged that she had broken up with Salman Khan because she couldn’t accept his frenzy behavior. Till that date, everyone was aware of Khan’s insanic activities.

Conflict Between Salman & Shahrukh

According to reports, he even turned up on the set of ‘Chalte Chalte’ and tried to get Aishwarya’s attention.

Even he called Shahrukh Khan to inquire as he believed Shahrukh Khan was having an affair with Aishwarya. Some eyewitnesses on the set said Salman grabbed Shahrukh by the collar and dragged him away.

Finally Aishwarya Reveals The Truth (2002)

In September 2002, months after their terrible breakup, Aishwarya spoke out for the first time about their abusive relationship.

She revealed,

“Salman and I broke up last March, but he isn’t able to come to terms with it…After we broke up, he would call me and talk rubbish.

He also suspected me of having affairs with my co-stars. I was linked up with everyone, from Abhishek Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan.

There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And, I would go to work as if nothing had happened.

Salman hounded me and caused physical injuries to himself when I refused to take his calls.”

Aishwarya Rai later stated in a press release,

“For my well-being and for the self-respect of my family, I will not work with Mr. Salman Khan. The chapter of Salman Khan was a nightmare in my life. I am thankful that it is over now.”
