The announcement made by Minister V Muraleedharan prompted members of the ruling and opposition camps in Rajya Sabha to trade insults with one another.
According to information provided by Union Minister V Muraleedharan to the Rajya Sabha on Friday, the contentious Delhi services bill will be introduced in Parliament the following week.
The development paves the way for a dramatic confrontation between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is currently in power, and the I.N.D.I.A, which is currently in opposition. If the legislation is passed in Parliament, it will have an immediate and direct effect on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is one of the 26 parties that make up the block. In a number of statements, the opposition has referred to the bill as an “attack” on India’s existing federal structure.
According to information obtained by trusted news sources, immediately after the announcement was made, both parties began trading insults with one another.
