Borivali Building Collapse: 4-Storey Building Collapses In Mumbai

An empty & dilapidated four-storey building collapsed in the Borivali area of Mumbai. However there is no casualty or injuries reported yet.

On Friday afternoon, a five-story, abandoned, and decaying structure collapsed in Mumbai’s Borivali neighborhood. 

Civic officials informed the news media that no casualties had been reported up to this point. The mentioned structure is situated in Borivali West’s Saibaba Nagar neighborhood.

An official informed,

“Around 12.30 pm, the Gitanjali Building near the Saibaba temple in Saibaba Nagar in Borivali West fell. 

Along with the police and civic ward officials, at least eight Mumbai fire engines, two rescue vans, and other vehicles were dispatched to the scene.”

The scene has been reached by representatives from the local government and the fire service. There are also about eight fire engines, ambulances, and rescue vehicles on the scene.

To rescue individuals allegedly trapped under the debris, an effort has been started. He claimed that the firefighters are determining if anyone was entangled in the rubble.

The structure was deemed to be in disrepair and had been abandoned, according to information provided by the R-Central ward of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). 

Another official reported that the fire department was determining whether anyone was trapped.

However there is a confusion about the number of storeys in the building. Many news media reported that it was a 4-storey building but few news agencies called it a 5-storey building.
