Bollywood Actor Govinda Injured in Accidental Gun Misfire at Home

Bollywood’s favorite actor Govinda was reportedly admitted to the hospital after receiving a bullet injury at his residence in Mumbai, Juhu. The 60-year-old actor, who is also a Shiv Sena leader, was hurt when his licensed revolver accidentally went off around 4:45 AM.

Information about the accident was given by the manager of the restaurant Govinda, Shashi Sinha, who said that the man was driving to Kolkata. Sinha said: ‘Once, Govinda ji had placed the revolver in a cupboard and it fell and got fired accidentally’. The bullet struck the actor at the bottom of his thigh.

The individual’s incident occurred at home when the actor was all alone. Subsequently, he got in touch with his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata at the time, and his manager. Not long after the local police came to the scene and took him to Criticare Hospital.

Current Condition

According to Govinda’s team, the actor’s condition is no longer life-threatening. The actor himself released an audio message saying, ‘I was hit by a bullet which was removed. The doctors and my fans are to be thanked for praying for me.” He thanked God, his parents, his guru, and fans for his safety following the attack.

Currently, his daughter, Tina Ahuja is with him at the hospital. The actor’s wife has vacated Kolkata and is currently in Mumbai.

Travel Plans Affected

The occurrence affected one of his previous shows in Kolkata. He recalled the mishap saying, “We had a 6 AM flight and I was already at the airport when this occurred,” Sinha said. He continued: “God willing, the injury could have been worse.”

The Mumbai Police have stated that to date no actual complaint has been lodged with them by Govinda.
