Black Widow is all set to hit the theatres in July but here’s what the first reviews reveal about the thriller

The Black Widow movie will hit the theatres and streaming platforms on July 9 this year and Scarlett Johansson’s fans can’t wait to see her back in action in the black suit. Of course it was long overdue for her character to have a separate movie which would depict her previous life before becoming an Avenger.

The movie is co-written by Wanda Vision creator Jac Schaeffer, who received a lot of appreciation for the series making the fans even more excited. It also has touches of Cate Shortland bringing in the Terminator and Mission Impossible feel but the film maintains the Marvel melodrama feel and suspense.

The movie contains events that happen before Balck Widow enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe as one of the Avengers. It will show the origin of the character and her relationships with other villains and heroes as a Russian spy throughout the movie in detail.

The movie will also be showing sibling rivalry which will be interesting to watch for the viewers. The character will be portrayed by Florence Pugh.

After the first screening, many of threviewers already expanded on how this movie will be different from the rest of the Marvel franchise. The actor has surely mpressed the film critics with not only her acting prowess but also her actio stunts. She also seemingly had an amazing chemistry with her sibling.

Most of the reviewers had only good things to say about the movie giving the whole credit to Johansson for carrying the movie solely on her shoulders.

One of the reviewers said that he was earlier worried that the duration of the movie will be long and it will not be as interesting but when he started watching the movie, he felt that it was much more absorbent than he had expected.

The Guradian’s Peter Bradhshow felt that Black Widow’s standalone was long overdue and adds that it was the voice and stance of the hero that he missed during the lockdown the most.

Other reviewers credited the makers of this movie for keeping the dynamics between the characters interesting and managing to build a plot that demands more from the viewers and is not restricted to the imagined sequence of the movies. “Black Widow is at its best when it’s a wacky family drama between Natasha, Yelena, Alexei, and Melina, with dashes of a spy thriller,” said one the reviewers.

The movie however will not be released in India due to the COvid-19 situation and as for the Disney+ streaming platform, the unit has not confirmed it being available on the platform anytime soon.
