‘BJP using it’s power to destabilize West Bengal govt’, says NCP chief Sharad Pawar

Last updated on December 24th, 2020 at 04:33 am

NCP chief Sharad Pawar: In a new turn of events, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar blamed the BJP for abusing the Center’s powers to destabilize Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress party in West Bengal.

Recently, the central government had ordered the transfer of three IPS officers following the assault that took place on the BJP president J.P. Nadda’s convoy when he visited West Bengal. The three senior officials who were liable for Nadda’s security in Diamond Harbor.

CM Mamata Banerjee stated that the MHA orders are an audacious impedance to control officials in Bengal, and finding support from a few of her non-BJP partners.

Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Suvendu Adhikari, with six other TMC MLAs, one Congress MLA, two Left MLAs, and one TMC Lok Sabha MP joined the BJP on Saturday.

As per critics, the display of numerous TMC leaders who are switching to the BJP has shown signs that maybe this is the most recent trend followed by the BJP during elections.

At the press conference, Shah dismissed Mamata’s claims stating that the central government is planning to impose President’s Rule in West Bengal ahead of the assembly elections.

He added that Mamata Banerjee’s “worries and redundant claims” about Article 356 of the Constitution are just intended to draw public sympathy. Such intricate issues should be discussed between the central and state government, and not in public.

“BJP is misusing its power to destabilize the West Bengal government, whereas law and order is a state matter. Without any approval, the IPS officials have been transferred from the state, which is a very serious matter. Sharad Pawar and Mamata Banerjee have discussed this issue,” Nawab Malik told the ANI news.

“Pawar will also talk about this issue with heads of other political parties in Delhi and if it’s important, Pawar will go to West Bengal,” Malik added.

However, to get a lion’s share and form the following government in Bengal, the BJP would need to perform better than in 2019.
