BJP: India feeling proud after French honor to PM Modi

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the ruling political party, has said that the Republic of India is feeling proud after French honor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Friday, Union Minister Piyush Goyal expressed happiness at Prime Minister Narendra Modi being conferred with the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest award.

PM Modi was conferred with France’s highest civilian and military honor by French President Emmanuel Macron. The Ministry of External Affairs wrote on Twitter, “A warm gesture embodying the spirit of Indo-French partnership. PM Narendra Modi conferred with the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, the highest award in France by President Emmanuel Macron.”

Piyush Goyal revealed that 14 countries have so far awarded PM Modi with their top honor. The United States, Russia, Palestine and Israel are among the countries to honor PM Modi.

PM Modi was the Guest of Honor in Friday’s French National Day (Bastille Day) celebrations. He arrived in Paris, the capital of France, on Thursday evening. He held talks with Elizabeth Borne, the Prime Minister of France, and Macron.

PM Modi also addressed a meeting of the Indian diaspora at La Seine Musicale, a music and performing arts center in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. He also attended a private dinner with Macron and his wife Brigette Macron at Elysee Palace, the official residence of the President of the French Republic. The French President also hosted a State Banquet at the prestigious Louvre Museum.
