BJP & Congress Demands Kerala Minister Saji Cheriyan’s Resignation

Kerala minister Saji Cheriyan getting criticized & demanded for resignation from all over India after his controversial Anti-Constitutional statements.

Recently, Kerala minister Saji Cheriyan made some comments on the Indian Constitution that caused a controversy and drew criticism for his “anti-constitution” views from a number of political parties and politicians from across India.

The Left leader afterwards expressed apologies and said news stories about this matter were “distorted,” but this did not stop the opposition from igniting a major political controversy in the state by calling for his dismissal.

Both the Congress and the BJP urged that Cheriyan be fired or asked to resign, claiming that Cheriyan is no longer qualified to hold office as a result of his comments.

According to the sources, the opposition Congress called Cheriyan’s comments “obnoxious,” while the BJP claimed he was ineligible to hold an office made possible by the Constitution because of his disregard for it and criticized the CPI(M) for the dispute.

What Did Kerala Minister Saji Cheriyan Say?

In a recent speech, Cheriyan made controversial claims about the country’s Constitution, claiming that it was “assembled by the British” and that an Indian had written it that way.

The Constitution has been in place for the past 75 years. He had claimed that the “kuntham and kodachakram” (spear and wheel), values like “secularism” and “democracy,” had just been written on its (the Constitution’s) sides.

We all agree that India’s Constitution is beautifully crafted; it is considered to be the most important attribute of the nation, according to the CPI(M) leader.

But I will admit that the nation’s wonderful Constitution, which can be used to plunder the highest number of people, was written.

He said, “Indian Constitution is one which condones (labor) exploitation the greatest,” and claimed this was the reason some “millionaires” in the corporate sector have risen in the country. He asserted that ours is a nation that does not accept employees’ protests.

Resignation of Kerala Minister Saji Cheriyan

The opposition criticized his remarks, claiming that he attacked not just the Indian Constitution but also Baba Saheb Ambedkar and “the principles of India.”

Cheriyan’s immediate dismissal was urged by the Congress and the BJP, who said that the CPI(M) minister made the most “obnoxious remarks.”

However, the CPI(Mcentral )’s leadership rejected the call for the dismissal of the minister in charge of both fisheries and cultural affairs, describing it as merely a “slip of the tongue.”
